…as aggrieved chapter women leaders set to protest
The Akwa Ibom State First Lady and the wife of Governor Udom Emmanuel, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel has allegedly paid more than 15 PDP chapter women leaders N250k each to attend the PDP National Convention that will hold this weekend 30th October, 2021 at the Eagle’s Square, Abuja.
The governor’s wife directed her Secretary yesterday 27th October, 2021 to send the money and customized PDP wrapper only to those she instructed her to send to and forget about others.
After the money was sent to the selected women leaders, a text message was therefore sent to all the chapter women leaders to attend prayer fellowship in the government house. Those chapter women leaders who did not receive the said N250k refused to attend the prayer in the government house saying, what is the need of inviting them for prayer after which, the governor’s wife would give them #2000 only for transport but when it’s time to pay a reasonable amount of money, she selects and pays some and leaves some.
Newsline9ja.com reporter gathered that the reason why the governor’s wife paid some and abandoned some is not well spelled out but the feeler said, her reason for not paying the more than 10 chapter women leaders is unconnected with the blackmails against some women leaders about meeting with some governorship aspirants in the state.
The inside informant also revealed to newsline9ja.com reporter that, the more than 10 chapter women leaders that have not been paid the said money are set to protest because the marginalization by the governor’s wife is too much saying, it’s the same way the governor’s wife is paying some PDP chapter women leaders N100k every month but refused to pay some simply because they have been blackmailed to her.
Some of the chapter women leaders that have not been paid include: Ibesikpo, Eastern Obolo, Uyo, Uruan, Ibiono, Etinan, Nsit Ubium, Ibeno, and others…
The chapter women leaders wondered why the governor’s wife could treat them that way even when they did not do anything wrong as against the party’s constitution.
Newsline9ja.com also learnt that Mrs. Martha Udom pays some PDP chapter women leaders N100k monthly and leaves some for reasons best known to her.
As a result of this biased treatment by the First Lady, some chapter women leaders have concluded plans to stage a protest in order to express their grievances constitutionally.
