In an uplifting interaction held at his office on Tuesday, Cross River State Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, passionately charged his recently appointed principal officers to surpass expectations and wholeheartedly serve the people with unwavering dedication.
During the session, Governor Otu conveyed his profound confidence in the newly selected team, comprising Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, Chief of Staff, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, Acting State Chief of Protocol, Mr. Sylvester Abang, and Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche. Emphasizing their impressive track records and unmatched expertise, he urged them to consider their appointments as a sacred calling to serve.
“Regardless of the position you assume today, I implore you to discharge your duties with utmost responsibility and the well-being of our people at the forefront. This appointment is the collective choice of well-meaning Cross Riverians, and you must utilize your skills and extensive experience to improve the lives of our citizens. We have great expectations from our administration, and it is crucial that we live up to our promise of the People First Agenda. I am delighted to welcome you to join hands with me as we fulfill the commitments we made,” stated Governor Otu.
While urging them to roll up their sleeves and dive into their responsibilities with dedication, Governor Otu disclosed that these appointments were made after thorough consultations with key stakeholders. He expressed his belief that the newly appointed officials would not disappoint the people who had entrusted them with this mandate.
In response, Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, the Secretary to the State Government, expressed gratitude to Governor Otu for the confidence placed in them and vowed to work diligently to fulfill their mandates.
“We are honored by this opportunity to serve you and our beloved state. Your Excellency, we are aware of the magnitude of the task ahead, but we promise to align our efforts with your prescribed standards of service delivery, hard work, and perseverance,” assured Prof. Owan-Enoh.
The event witnessed the presence of Deputy Governor Rt. Hon Peter Odey, the Speaker of the State Assembly, and Senator-elect for Cross River Central Senatorial District Rt. Hon. Eteng Williams, among other dignitaries.
As the new team assumes their roles, the people of Cross River State eagerly anticipate positive changes and the fulfillment of the government’s promises.
