In a remarkable showcase of governance prowess, Ibiono Ibom Transition Committee Chairman, Hon. (Comr.) Nsikanabasi Ukobot, has lauded the impactful leadership of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, as he presented a resounding scorecard marking his administration’s first 100 days in office.
Hon. Ukobot’s accolades for Governor Umo Eno came to light during a gathering of select media representatives at the newly refurbished council secretariat in Oko Ita, the administrative capital of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area. Expressing gratitude for the governor’s visionary leadership, Ukobot expressed appreciation for the opportunity to interpret the Arise Agenda at the grassroots level.
Highlighting the achievements of his tenure, Ukobot underscored significant milestones including the completion of 20 open stalls at Afua Market, extensive desilting of gutters within the council headquarters vicinity, and the restoration of water supply. Renovation initiatives spanned across various facilities including the Council Secretariat, Corpers’ Lodge, and Security Village, with additional projects encompassing staff welfare enhancements, free medical outreach programs, and skill acquisition training initiatives in collaboration with NDDC.
Moreover, the chairman detailed the distribution of business support grants to 100 local entrepreneurs, installation of solar panels and floodlights at Ikot Ambang Night Market, and critical infrastructure improvements such as the repair and replacement of generators and electrical systems.
In a forward-looking gesture, Ukobot hinted at ongoing projects such as the construction of a Civic Centre at Ikot Obo, Idoro, nearing completion, alongside extensive road grading efforts including the Ukpakon Okpoto-Ikpanya Road expansion. Emphasizing community consultation and infrastructure assessment as pivotal drivers, Ukobot reiterated the committee’s unwavering commitment to realizing Governor Umo Eno’s transformative ARISE agenda throughout Akwa Ibom State.
