Federated Chapel Commends Outgoing COOPA Chancellor and Welcomes New Executive Members
In a show of camaraderie and support, the Federated Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, has expressed its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Ifreke Nseowo, a dedicated member, for the successful completion of his eight-year tenure as the Chancellor of the Conference of Online Publishers in Akwa Ibom State (COOPA). This commendation comes as Mr. Nseowo gracefully concludes his term, marking a period of significant contributions to the media landscape in the state.
The Chapel also took the opportunity to extend warm wishes to two of its esteemed members, Mrs. Priscilla Akpanettot and Mr. Uwakmfon Dan, for their recent appointments and election, respectively, into the COOPA Executive. Mrs. Akpanettot and Mr. Dan have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to the field of journalism.
This gesture of appreciation and goodwill was conveyed through an official communique issued at the conclusion of the Chapel’s Congress, which took place on Thursday at the NUJ Secretariat, Information Drive, Uyo. The document, signed by the Chapel’s Chairman, highlighted the accomplishments and dedication of Comrade Ifreke Nseowo, the Publisher of TheMail Newspaper, during his tenure as the Pioneer Chancellor of COOPA. The new Chancellor, Mr. Utitofon Morgan, was also acknowledged, along with the entire COOPA Executive, including Comrades Uwakmfon Dan, who assumes the role of Publicity Secretary, and Priscilla Akpanettot, who secured her position in the COOPA Executive for a four-year term.
The COOPA elections, which transpired last weekend during the 2023 Conference of the group in Eket, centered around the theme “The Future of Social Media: Exploring Emerging Platforms, Technologies, and the Landscape.” The event provided a platform for insightful discussions and exploration of the evolving social media landscape, emphasizing the importance of adapting to emerging platforms and technologies in the digital age.
As the newly appointed and elected members assume their roles within COOPA, the Federated Chapel continues to stand in solidarity with its members, celebrating their achievements and supporting their endeavors in the dynamic field of online publishing and journalism.
