AKWA IBOM STATE BULK PURCHASE AGENCY INITIATES NEW ROUND OF FOOD VOUCHER DISTRIBUTION AS PART OF ARISE FOOD SECURITY PROGRAMME

Under the leadership of Governor Umo Eno, the Akwa Ibom State Bulk Purchase Agency has embarked on a fresh phase of distributing food vouchers to Ward Personal Assistants. This initiative, aligned with the Arise Food Security Programme, targets vulnerable members of society identified through the social register.
Commencing today in the Eket Senatorial District and extending to Ikot-Ekpene and Uyo Senatorial Districts tomorrow, the distribution is centralized at the agency’s headquarters in Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.

Ward Personal Assistants from all 12 Local Government Areas in Eket Senatorial District have already received their allotments of vouchers for distribution within their respective wards.
Governor Umo Eno’s vision behind this effort is to extend crucial food support to the most impoverished citizens. These vouchers, facilitated by the Akwa Ibom State Bulk Purchase Agency, will be exchanged for essential food items at designated redemption centers.
Dr. Dan Akpan, the Agency’s Chairman, underscores that this initiative dovetails with the Governor’s commitment to food security and complements the ongoing Back to Farm programme. Initially, distribution prioritizes those listed on the social register, with plans to expand eligibility later.

The Ward Personal Assistants pledge transparent and accountable distribution, implementing rigorous documentation and verification protocols to ensure the vouchers reach their intended recipients. Stringent procedural adherence guarantees a seamless and effective distribution process.
