The National Association of Akwa Ibom Medical Students, NAAKIMS, Worldwide, paid a courtesy call on the Pioneer President of the body, Dr Israel Ben, in his office, and presented to him Award of recognition as the father of Naakims worldwide cum his dedication, focus and determination to birthed the Association and groom young health workers to limelight.At the visit the young and intending health workers briefed their mentor on the Strides recorded so far by the successive administration and their plans towards making NAAKIMS stronger and be results oriented via building synergy to improve on students welfare.In his response, Dr. Israel Ben thanked them for recognizing the root of NAAKIMS, said all his mentees are making appluadable impacts in their choosen field of study. He took out time to briefed the Naakims worldwide Excos on the details of how the Association was formed and the purpose it was meant to achieved. Expressed confidence with Utomobong led administration for laying solid foundation to stimulate physical development among the student doctors assured them of his all round support during and after their academic sojourn. Dr. Ben however endorsed the forthcoming Health/Accedemic submit billed for September, and promised to support the event to suceed.The visit was led by the president Comr Utomobong Udo accompanied by Uniuyo President and Chief of Staff to the Worldwide president Elijah Ukpong, S.A. on Project 2 Idongesit Ekpo,Maurice Johnson UUTH Naakims rep of batch 12set among others.In a related development the NAAKIMS WORLDWIDE President attended The official opening ceremony of Nigerian Medical Association’s ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING/SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE whichtook place at Helamah events centre. COMMISSIONER FOR WOMEN AFFAIRS, CHARGES GIRL CHILD TO MAKE GOOD DECISIONS TO ENSURE A SUCCESSFUL FUTURE.

The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare Dr. Ini Adiakpan has charged girl children to make good decisions for a better future as decisions the make today can either make or mar their future.

The comissioner gave the charge at the sensitization programme for teenage girls in secondary schools in Akwa Ibom State with the theme “Girls, Uphold Your Dignity” hosted by the wife of the State Governor, Dr. Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel.

The event which was organized by her non governmental platform, Family Empowerment and Youth Re-orientation Path- initiative FEYReP was a 1-Day awareness campaign for teenage girls, held today at Ibom Hall, IBB Way, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Dr. Adiakpan advised that every knowledge that is being shared by the resource persons should be put to use as knowledge learnt and not used is pointless.

In her words “the primary reason your parents sent you to school is to learn and study and as such Learning should be your guiding principles.”

The Honourable Commissioner thanked the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel for putting up such platform to educate the girl child on upholding their dignity.

Dr. Adiakpan stated that the first lady is a notable role model, worthy of emulation by the women and girls in Akwa Ibom State.

She also appreciated the gender friendly Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for his interest in the welfare of Akwa Ibom children.

The Commissioner mentioned that the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare is solidly behind the girl child and urged them to freely report any form of abuse or rape to the Ministry.

She urged the teachers to spread the message to other children in their respective schools.
